Beige Babes

It's crunch time now.

Starting yesterday, I work 8-5, five days a week and have cheerleading conditioning 5-7 every evening except Saturday and Sunday. When I get home in the evenings, I'll be catching up on my AP Lit. summer reading list. Thank God I only have three weeks of this. When school starts, everything slows down!

Work continues to be an adventure and a lot of fun most of the time. I really enjoy my co-workers more and more. Working with dad is nice too. Yesterday we had a blowout. But we sorted it, and I guess it was bound to happen sometime. It's weird being equal co-workers when he's obviously my superior in every way and is also the authoritative figure in my life. It makes for a challenge, but we're doing well and I'm proud. The girls in the department had a ton of fun on Tuesday. We all randomly matched! Here are pictures of the beige babes.

I finished The Deathly Hallows. I was so pleased with it. Rowling could not have ended her popular series more brilliantly. Though she writes at a targeted audience of teenagers, her stories aren't childlike in content at all. Characters die; the plot is thick, interweaved, and complex; and the development of the story and fulfillment of all the foreshadowing is incredibly deep. As soon as I finished the final installment, I rushed back to the sixth book. I'm reading through it slowly, intentionally reading into hints, connections, symbolism, and her trail of breadcrumbs. Rowling leaves tid-bits peppered all-over that I missed my first time through the series. Let it be known, I still have crushes on book characters.

I get paid on Friday. The beauty of this paycheck is the end of my debt, and being behind on bills. Two weeks of being caught up. Oh Glory! I'm so happy. And hopefully there'll be enough left over to get my hair color re-touched. My roots are a little discolored at the moment...causing my soul pain.

Finally, recent and upcoming happenings of note include:
  • I am the graphic design editor of the 2008 North Side Legend Yearbook.
  • I am trying to plan an excursion to Cedar Point probably the twelth of August (let me know if you'd like to join me).
  • Ben is camping with his family in Michigan this week. I miss him.
  • I went to Indy this past weekend, finished the Harry Potter Series, and shopped with Ray and Andrea. It made for a pretty sweet time.
