I just finished a charcoal drawing that I hope to photograph and post soon, and I'm also finishing up a book/album cover assignment for my Computer Art class that I'll post when I'm done.
For now, I thought I'd show off some practice projects I've done on my own time. I've been trying to get more familiar with Adobe Illustrator, mostly because Adobe Photoshop can seem very limiting. Plus, I really love that Illustrator is raster-based, so I never have to worry about my design getting pixelated or printing at poor quality. Don't get me wrong though. I still love Photoshop. I've been using it to play with a new banner idea, using a coffee bean field. What do you think?
Banner, Maddie Skinner
Keys, Maddie Skinner
I'm kinda proud of this one. I constructed both keys from scratch, and got creative with stroke size and texture for my lettering and border. I did cop-out and use a layer effect for the background. It just looked to flat without.
Sample Coupon, Maddie Skinner
I can't take credit for the swirlies. I lifted those off a stock site, but the layout is mine.
Note: The coupon design is for a set of 12 coupons I made for Josh for his birthday. My friend Amy, suggested doing the coupons so Josh has gifts for the whole year, that encourage quality time and opportunities for me to do nice things for him. I threw in coupons for new running shoes and ammo too, so he's getting presents. :-) Thanks for the tip Amy! He loves them.
